I picked this piano up for cheap off of craigs list, and it has a terrible distorted buzz on every note, I'm sure this thing is at least ten years old, and although I no nothing about pianos, I do have an electronic background. It is obvious that it has leaking caps in the power supply, I plan to change the caps and check for bad solder joints. Any pointers from a tech would be appreciated! wirewapper, is the model number PW360? I would recommend that you contact KAWAI US as their technical servicing department may be able to provide support documentation that would allow you to service the instrument correctly.

Kind regards,
James

I did finally find a badge on this thing that says p360, and THANKS! I will try that, but this thing has to be done on the cheap, so it depends on the price of the info, and the fix. I did find a site today with a good price on service manuals, that was before I found the real model# so I'll try again tomorrow.

Well, according to the information I have here, the P(W)360 was manufactured in 1988, so the success of your repair may ultimately depend on how well the instrument was looked after by the previous owner(s).

Good luck!
