Hey all!

First of all, english isnt my native language and Im not too familiar with the pianoterms, but hopefully I can make myself kind of understood.

Ive got a Yamaha DGX-620 Keyboard which I've connected to my laptop using an USB-cable.

Ive managed to get it to work, I can "download / upload" songs to and from the piano. So I think it's connected and installed the right way.

The problem is though;
When Im using NoteWorthy Composer and play, it doesnt matter how fast or slow I play, it only writes it down as 1/4 notes (I can change it manually though). And if I hold a key, and presses another(no matter how long I wait), those two (or more) are displayed as if I played both at the same time.
The same thing happens if I play two different notes too fast after eachother.

I can always push record on the piano and then upload it to the laptop, but somehow I just feel like it would be nice to be able to record straight into NoteWorthy, real time.

Is this possible? Perhaps not on NoteWorthy, or maybe I need some other software (or perhaps hardware) to the computer.

Id be really grateful for any tip, guide or info you have.
Hopefully you've understood what I wanted to say by this ^^

Regards from Sweden,
Robert

I don't know about Noteworthy, I use Cubase. In my program there is a function called quantize. If this is set to 'on' all notes will snap to the closest grid point. See if you can find this setting in your program and turn it off.

I do not believe Noteworthy can handle real time input at this time .... but check out Noteworthy's forum and ask someone there.

Higher end programs like Sibelius do allow for real time input ..... but you will probably have to do a good bit of editing afterwards also.

Hi Robert,

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like you are set up for step recording. Check page 67 - 68 of the manual for the differences between step recording and live recording. If you are looking at the pdf, they are on pages 86 - 87 of the pdf.

Looking at the manual, I have to agree with dannac. I don't believe Noteworthy allows full real time input like other programs.

Rich
