Dear all,

I've connected my new Roland HP103 to my computer (next to it) through the normal USB Midi Interface card (ESI REMI/O).

After I set the HP103 to midi mode, I can play back piano midi file from the Windows Media Player in the Roland HP103; I just wonder can I play the keys in the HP103 and have my computer speaker play back the sound "directly" without recording it first? If so, what software do I need to do that?

I am using the Creative Audizy 2 Platinum Pro External together with the Creative 7.1 speakers which is capable to uplink the sounds to ALL 8 speakers. So I think maybe it can give me better sounds than the built in speaker (I don't know yet), anyone can suggest me?? Thanks a lot \:\)

Cheers
Wallace

I have not used a soundcard's built in synthesizer, but that's what you wanna do.
Check your Audigy's manual to see how you can set it up to receive the MIDI data from your keyboard and trigger some soundfonts library.
Sorry I can't help you further, but I'm sure you will find lots of info about it from other people here.

wallacetai,
Do you want JUST the audio to come out of your speakers? Or are you looking to record MIDI?

If you just want audio, Use the audio outs on the back of your HP103 to the inputs of the Audigy.
I looked at what your connections are at the creative site.....
So I would say if your just want to use the card as an audio link to your computer speakers, buy a 1/4" to RCA cable.
Use the audio outs on the HP103 with the 1/4" end of the cable and use the RCA jacks at the Line in 3 input on the Audigy. AND enjoy the 8 speaker sound! (Make sure left and right match at each end!)
If its a MIDI connection question, reply to this post with exactly what you want the MIDI to do for you and I will try to help when I return home from this business trip!

My experience of playing digital piano with those surround sound system is not that good.
You are right that you have eight speakers but it sounds more like 8 little pianos playing at the same time than one big piano. Those surround speakers are designed for digital sound system like DTS, Digital surround7,1, etc. to recreate ambience sound effects. They sound horrible for plain stereo playing.
You better off getting a pair of high power high output speakers and power amplifier.
