I am a beginner of playing piano. I am looking for a digital piano. I am no knowledge of it. I read all the question and answer from the forums. There is no one to mention the Yamaho p60. Is it good for the beginner. The cost different is USD$400 between p60 and p120. Which one I should pick. Please comment!

One of the biggest differences between the P60 and P120 is the amount of polyphony. The P60 has 32, the P120 has 64 (as a general rule, go for the one with more). I'm fairly certain (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that the sample quality in the P120 is better (if anything, it would be the same). There are aslo a few other differences between the two (the P120 has a couple more voices, built in sequencer, etc.). Although the keyboard (touch/feel) is the same on both models.

As Zymtil mentioned, the P120 is better in terms of polyphony and sample quality. Personally, I would not buy the P60 because for a few hundred dollars more you can get a much better digital. The P120 is great if you need speakers, but if you're looking to save some money, consider the P90. It has the same amount of polyphony as the 120, but it doesn't have speakers.

The differences between the p120 and p60 are:
*The p60 has 32 note polyphony while the p120 has 64 note polyphony.
*The p60's pianos are only one dynamic layer and the p120's are 3 dynamic layers with sustain, key off, string resonance, and soundboard modelling.
*The p60's speakers are not as great as the p120's.
*The key to sound connection on the p60 is not great, but good for the price. The p120 has superb key to sound connection.
The p60 is a begginer piano, the p120 is a Professional Stage Piano. The p120 is better in every way.

the p120 is a Professional Stage Piano.
You must be playing on some tiny little stages if you think a P120 is a professional stage piano.
But will it toast bagels too - *that* is the question.

2. A keyboard player getting paid after playing a P120

The Yamaha P120 is a profesional stage piano, period.
It is in Yamaha's pro stage piano line and it is a pro stage piano.
I am correct, and you guys are wrong. Sorry.

Here is Yamaha's website. You'll notice that the only one of the 'P'Series labeled Professional Stage Piano is the P250.

The P120 is *not* a professional stage piano. It's one notch above Kmart models. The only people who think it's a professional stage model are little wannabe rock stars in high school.

A Roland RD700 is a professional stage piano. The P120 is a toy- a notch above a Kmart or Radio Shack keyboard. If you don't believe me then you're just plain stunned.

The p120 is not a brick of crap, and it is a pro stage piano. It is absolutely superb, in my opinion. Its da bomb. A Roland RD700 is a professional stage piano. The P120 is a toy- a notch above a Kmart or Radio Shack keyboard. If you don't believe me then you're just plain stunned.
