Any idea how to order a digital piano to Israel??

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me on this. The prices in Israeli stores are simply rip-off (a bit more than 2 times the price in the US usually), even if I do get a safety guarantee. I tried looking at second-hand ones, they may be a bit cheaper than normal Israeli prices but still they cost about the price of a new one in the US. Is there any american website that sends digital pianos all the way to Israel, and if so, at reasonable delivery price? Or perhaps a store from UK, how are the prices there compared to the US? And is there any store that sends to Israel? (There should be at least some, cause Israel is not too far away from UK).
I really appreciate all your help, thanks!

I know the feeling. Same here in Cyprus. I brought mine on a visit to the UK, and even when air-freighting it over, it was still about half the price of buying it locally.

I live in Ireland...rip off too. I bought the Yahama YDP-131 (new model) from the UK for 860 euro including shipping. A lot of German music stores are selling piano at competitive price too.

I see... And to think that I was sure Israel is like, the most expensive place in the world when it comes to instruments . Would buying from outside of your country through the internet and paying taxes and delivery and what not, would still result in a cheaper price than buying locally? Next week I go to the store to write down prices and see if anything comes close to the price in the US, and that will probably be what I'll consider to buy. I'll post the prices here too.

I think you are right to buy from the US because prices are generally lower over there compared to Europe...and if buying from Germany or UK you would have to pay taxes because you're not buying within the EU (when buying within the EU you only pay the tax from the country you are buying from -i.e. 17% in Germany)
I noticed big differences for the shipping...shop around! A German on line shop priced the shipping for 15 euro for any of those piano:
Yahama CLP-115 Yamaha CLP-220 Korg EC-150
notice that the Korg is pretty heavy.
an another one charged more than 100 euro for the same piano. good luck

I tried out some sites (including that sam-ash), but what happens is when you try to order it says they don't ship to israel these specific products (the pianos) and they said it could be license problems. I do know that the store I've been to here in Israel which has all the killer prices has bought exclusivity to products of brands such as Yamaha and Steinway

I'd suggest you give B&H a call on the phone. I know they make reference to International orders on their web site, carry a wide variety of keyboards in their pro audio department, and I suspect they might even speak your language. 800.336.7408 / 212.502.6234 http://www.bhphotovideo.com Howard

Umm when shopping around in dolphinmusic.co.uk all prices are VAT included, and if I'll buy something from there I won't pay that thing, so like, how many precent is that VAT? I need to know so I can calculate my price (for example if it's 7% I'll just do (100/107)*price. fab said something about 17%, were you talking about the VAT of germany? (or of europe or whatever :X)
Another small question is: Did anyone buy from dolphinmusic.co.uk? I just want to know I'll get what I order because they don't accept an israeli credit card, and my mother is going to do it through a bank transfer, therefore wether I get what I ordered or not, the money is gonna go.
So what's your past experience with dolphinmusic.co.uk??

here up to date VAT rate: http://www.fdeservicepartner.com/ShowPage.asp?EmneID=9 Germany is 16% (sorry, not 17%) UK 17,5 % France 19,6% Ireland 21% Italy 20 % Spain 16% Holland 19% Austria 20% they are talking about homogenising the VAT accross the EU...hummm probably not for tomorrow...and I hope we will get close to the one from germany or spain :-) also look at the strength of the Euro/pound against the shekel...see european central bank web site for the former: http://www.ecb.int/stats/exchange/eurofxref/html/index.en.html Fab.

Thanks for the information fab, you helped me great deal!
So it seems dolphinmusic.co.uk is the way to go. The p-90 costs 937.55 euro. Excluding the VAT, it costs 808 euro. Delivery is another 40, so a total of 848 euro which is about 4782 shekels which is about 1070 dollars. Is that a good price for a p-90 over the internet?? It seems like a good price.

here a few web sites I looked at when shopping around. I bought the piano from the UK, because I wanted a Yamaha and doesn't seem as popular in german's web site...but in general you'll get better prices from german on line shops than from the UK...they are also more oriented to international customers in general (have often multilangual staff)...don't be put off if everything is not in english on the web site...when I rang them they were helpful Plus the Sterling is still quite strong... www.musik-schmidt.de www.thomann.de www.musikhaus-hermann.de www.musicstorekoeln.de www.music-town.de

Advertise it in your local paper, eBay, craigslist, free-ad-list, university, college, post office, music shops, town/region buy and sell facebook. And so on.

One way to get around import tax ... and this may not work for you, is to have someone in the military order the item to be sent to their military address. (Or you buy the item and have it sent to someone as a 'gift'. )
American soldiers, for example, stationed in foreign countries will have an APO address which for all purposes is an American address (for shipping, taxes, whatever). (The Israeli army might have the same set up.)
Many years ago I ordered a Mackie mixer (for European voltage) from a US company to be sent to an American friend of mine stationed in Germany. When it arrived he gave me a call and my wife and I drove out and spent the weekend. (We would visit them anyway, this just made it more attractive.)
I consider this type of transaction an ethical and legal gray area. There's nothing illegal about buying a gift for a friend who lives in another country. If your friend decides he doesn't want the item and offers it back to you, so be it.
This added ... the US has an installation in Israel. The Dimona Radar Facility is an American-operated radar base in the Negev, staffed by 120 US military personnel. (from Wiki)
If you know a friend of a friend of a friend who is stationed there, my method could work. This same idea could work for Canadian soldiers stationed in Israel (or a neighboring country).
