I would appreciate if someone would explain step-by-step how to install and use piano simulations, i.e., explain how a host relates to a plug-in, where to obtain "content" files, and so forth. For example does the 4front Truepianos demo require a host or is it complete as a "standalone"?

When I load it and connect my USB midi to my laptop, it asks me to load content files??? I don't own any content files? Without them, how do you get to demo the demo?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums. Mahlzeit has put together a set of tutorials that may give you the help you need. Here is the link.

Thansk so much. That may be enough to get me started. I am confused since I installed the Truepianos trial version, which appeared to install fine, but in startup asked to "load content files" --??

Thanks for your response to my plight.

I have no idea what "Load content files" means. Never seen that before...

Do you know exactly which piece of software is asking for that? Is it the TruePianos demo, your VST host program, or your MIDI-USB driver, or something else?

I got the "load content FIles" dialog window from within Truepianos demo alone. I owuld have expected it to include at least one demo piano file. It seems like it's asking me to load a piano profile.

What options do you have from the "load content" screen?

Perhaps, and I'm just guessing here, but if you can answer Yes or No, then try yes first.

If Yes asks for a location and does not give a list of files to select from (default files within the program), then go back and answer no. Thinking perhaps this is an option to load something other than the included samples.

Other than that, I'm at a loss as well....

Or, perhaps it's asking for a midi file. Try selecting any midi and see it it loads it up....

EDIT - OK, for kicks I downloaded the demo just to see the screen.

Did you create a VST folder when you installed the program? If not, then re-install and when you get to the screen where it asks, make a directory to put the VST info, select it, and the program should now work.....

If you did this step, then I'm back to being lost.

It just says: "please load content files (modules) then restart Truepianos."
