I desperately need some assistance. A family member has recently passed away and I need to find a new home for her digital piano. My musical education includes the radio so I am hoping for some direction. Can this be sold and if so what is the approximate value?
Hoping you can help........

Have you tried posting a description and picture to craigslist? (It's free) That would probably be the easiest way to find it a new home.

Any used piano is not easy to sell, because
the number of piano players in the general
population is not large. Moreover, digital
pianos, in particular, lose value fast,
because they are essentially computers inside,
and they thus lose value like used computers--
for example, how much is a 10 yr. old
computer worth? Another consideration
is that Technics digitals are apparently
no longer sold in the US, so you're dealing
with a discontinued brand--although Technics
were premium instruments.

You might be able to sell it, but the
amount you get for it might not be worth
the effort. What I'd suggest is keeping it,
if there's space for it. Pianos are kind
of strange. Once you meet one it kind
of grows on you, and chances are you'll eventually
want to try and play it, even if initially
you have no interest along these lines.
For example, if you sold this, you might
later have a strange urge to try playing
the piano, and then you'll have to go
looking for one.

Thanks for all the info. I didn't know about the age thing but the computer analogy makes sense.
Does anybody know of an organization or whomever that I could donate to. How does one go about donating a really nice piano?

Definition of ebay: a popular auction site where people gather to overpay for used digital pianos. I suggest advertising it and see what happens. Buyer pays shipping so the worst that happens is it costs you $5 or so to advertise it.

The TECHNICS/PANASONIC SX-PX 103MM is probably 10 years old or more.

It may be old, but Technics was one of the pioneers of digital pianos and they made some fine instruments that are still very popular today.

Some of the older digital pianos also have very decent sound systems (better than what they are putting on modern ones) so they are still very appealing to buyers.

I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left.
