I've owned this keyboard for 3 years and it has been my main gig board. I've been very happy with it and it has been reliable. However, yesterday I turned it on and the usual boot up sequence didn't start. I got a solid band of yellow boxes on the display. Usually the yellow boxes slowly light up as the unit progresses through booting up. As I kept up with my attempts to turn her on sometimes the display wouldn't light up at all but the standby green light would always light up when the on/off switch was turned on. Any advice from techs or GEM pros is appreciated. I think she'll have to go to the hospital!!! Bummer! Thanks, Kevin

I had the same problem when i had this board. First try a hard reset ( power up while holding certain buttons down )-consult manual. But if this works you'll be very lucky. In my case It needed a new mother board and I was lucky it was still under waranty.

Thanks Agathis and Puff,
I have consulted my manual and there is nothing on a "hard reset". My manual is very basic, it doesn't mention a hard reset, and, alas, i'm not under warranty.

To hard reset the instrument turn on the main power switch on the back of the instrument while pressing and holding the standby button. If this doesn't fix it, send me an e-mail and we will sort it out. Not to worry. Best Regards, Dave

Some online stores are selling this for $1700. The sounds are very impressive, also saw the video explaning the DRAKE technology. Might have to consider this, kinda disappointed that it doesn't have a 20,000 note recorder like the pRP700, or other bells and whistles like Roland or Yamaha.
