Hi everyone. I've been looking into nuying a digital piano for quite some time (as it is always in tune and i will be able to move it with me to university when that time comes), but i need some direction. I've heard great things about the clavinova series (from my piano techer especially), but i havent had the chance to test them out yet (which i obviously must do before making my decision). I want it to have three pedals, and to feel as close to a piano as possible. Midi in and out would be great, as well as a transpose key. With that said, i dont really care about the finish and wouldnt bother paying an extra grand for ebony. I don't really know what the difference is between the clp and cvp series, or if there are other manufacturures i shoudl consider. I'm looking at spending less than 4000$, but am willing to sacrifce money for quality. Any suggestions??

Because you want three pedals then a stage piano is out so foget about the entire Pxxx series. The difference between CLP and CVP is that CVP includes arranger functionality (accompinament) and the CLP only plays voices.

If you don't care what it looks like then consider the PF500 (no accompinament) else go for a CLP-170 which has the best sound of the Yamaha line (and I would say the best of any digital piano currently shipping but this is just an opinion).
