Does anyone have any experience with Valdesta digital upright pianos? I'm in the market for a fairly affordable digital. I'm completely amazed by the Yamaha CLP 240, but it's a bit more than I want to spend. The Valdestas are around 1500 bucks cheaper, and they seem to have all the features I want, but I haven't heard much about them good or bad. I currently have a Samick acoustic, which is pretty good for someone of my calibre of playing, but am tired of all the need for tunings and upkeep. Any feedback apreciated.

I've seen their digital grands being sold online
for a while now. Their digital uprights seem
to have been added to their line fairly recently.

I ordered my Casio upright sight-unseen online
for 700.00 including shipping and I've been
very satisfied with it. It has weighted
hammer action keys similar in feel to
an acoustic and the sound is electronically
sampled from a top-of-the-line concert
grand piano. I consider it equivalent to
an acoustic for all practical purposes.
I bought it in May and have been playing
it hard with the most difficult classical
pieces, and it's given me no problems--and
of course there is zero tuning and maintenance
required with it.

The least expensive Valdesta upright seems
to be around 1200.00 to 1300.00, so just based
on price it should be better than my Casio,
which is already quite good. This might
be okay to order sight-unseen online.

I came across some Valdesta model at Sam Ash a while ago. Not well built at all. Keys feel is more like cheap keyboards at Walmart than real piano. It is budget brand. If you buy online, beware that it may be difficult to return it without costing you some money. You should really try one out first before making decision. Or buy one at a local store(which may not be in your area though).
