Can solar power be used with digital pianos?

Of course. Some people use solar power to provide electricity to their entire homes. How large a solar panel, any storage batteries you might need, and any other power converters you may need to make such a setup work though might be extremely impractical.

So could wind, water and pedal power as long as you have a steady voltage source with enough wattage to not damage the circuits.
I don't think that they draw enough to make it cost effective to go the alternative route unless you are looking to take it outside where there is not a power source?

I'm partial to the 4-cylinder gas powered piano. When you hit the throttle that baby just purrs. laugh

Yeah, the cheapest alternative for making a digital piano work where there is no power is probably either (a) batteries if the piano supports them or (b) a gas generator. Neither is environmentally conscious, if that is what you were after.

And don't forget steam....

Various types of steam driven organs and calliopes used to be popular at fairgrounds (maybe still are in some places???)

Thanks for all the helpful entertaining responses! smile
I am not ready for home solar panels, but I have heard of a few smaller solar batteries for charging cell phones, laptops, mp3 players, etc, and I am wondering if a device like that could work with a digital...I think the specs would work, the user guide said 12V - 18 Watts I think...
