How do you prevent sustain pedal slide on DP?

This is something that really bugs me. Here I am, trying to concentrate on playing something right but the sustain pedal is getting further and further away as I use it. I practice on our church Yamaha P120 and we have carpet. Any suggestions on how to prevent pedal movement without harming the carpet? Thanks.

Some pedals like the roland dp8 have a rubber strip that rotates to stay under your foot. You might perhaps place a rubber car mat or something similar under the pedal if you don't want to change pedals.

Ah, simplicity itself! Yes, the old rubber mat solution. Thanks, SSB. I should have thought of this myself. This pedal thing was just kind of distracting but anyway, I shall try this. Cheerio!!

You could also glue a piece of velcro hook on the bottom of the sustain pedal, no rubber mat to look at then. Clyde

Before I got a three pedal unit, I had the same problem. Since it was up against a wall, I stuffed my box of sheet music under the stand and basically cornered the pedal so it had nowhere to go when I depressed it.
I was quite proud of my little contraption, but my wife just rolled her eyes.

Ya think God would permit 88 strings?

My Yamaha sustain pedal is on carpet. I got some stick-on Velcro (the spiky part, not the fuzzy part), I put four of those round stickers on the bottom of the pedal. It grips the carpet and stops the pedal moving around. You can buy the Velcro stickers at a hardware store.

Thanks, WDMcM! What an ingenious invention and thank you so much for bringing it to our attention. This is just what the doctor ordered. Ya think God would permit 88 strings?[/b] From Psalms 150:4 'praise him with stringed instruments and organs.' I used to wonder facetiously if a Hammond with Leslie could be used. Now I prefer 88 strings and yes; I think God would allow us to have them. I can't wait. 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those that love him.' I Corinth. 2:9

What about trying suction (assuming the floor is smooth and the bottom of the pedal is too) ... Something like this underneath? The only other alternative would be nails or superglue ...

I carry a CreepNoMore with me to every gig. It really saves on the one foot shuffle while trying to located the sustain pedal. Dave
