Hi guys, Its my first post, so i think it would be nice to introduce myself a little. Im 25 y old, and i learned piano play for 12 y. Now i play occasionally, ussualy classical pieces and some improvisation, but having old accoustic upright, i decided to buy new one, and yes, because price matters to me i went for digital one. I wanted portable, with good action( this was most important for me), solid sound and internal speakers. i choose FP-7, but i also was thinking about CP-33. Problem is, that the Yamaha one had good action and nice piano but that was all. No speakers, no rest, i found it rather clumsy. I found FP-7 at roland website and getting helpful informations from this forum, persuaded me to think about it. After long long time (2 months), local dealer got it, so i rushed to try it before buy. being satisfied, i ordered one, it will be delivered to me on Saturday. I will post my first thoughts and "newbie review" in couple of days then. would like to add, this forums are really good, im happy i found you See ya guys

You made the right choice, you have the best sounding digital piano.

I like Sony MDR-7506 headphones. I don't care for AKG headphones.

My warranty is 2 and half years, i dnt have warranty sheet here so im little guessing here. i dnt know about Sony headphones, i had to find them in my city first. But i tested 2 beyerdinamics, one is DT131(55$) and another one is DT440(183$) current year edition. I really liked DT440, they have very clear sound but they were too small for my head. after playing my piano for while i felt uncomfortable. DT131 is exact opposite. Not very good sound but comfortable.. So it looks i have to search for sonys.

It seems that the headband is prone to cracking, which is why I'm guessing they're greatly discounted at the moment.

Congrats on the piano! I'm also 25 and I love this keyboard. For good discussion on headphones, check out the Head-Fi website (http://www.head-fi.org/). I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the keyboard. Justin

Thanks for the tip Montana, im going to check it out. I also found another interesting site for headphones it is: http://www.headphonereviews.org/index.php I will post here my review of FP-7, but first i need to buy decent headphones. Although internal speakers can make sometimes decent sound, their low output and some other characteristics which i dont know distorts resulting sound in not-so-pleasant manner. But first thoughts were: - OMG, this piano is cool. - the piano itself has a spirit. (thanks to thelively piano sound) - you can completely tune the sound of grand piano 1, changing subtle parameters like damper, string or sympathetic resonances. - i like church organ, playing toccata from fugue D mol isd really nice. - with stand KSC-44, piano is very stable and no fortissimo strokes can swing it from side to side. I hate digitals on usual "gigging" stands for home use.
