Hi there,

Hope this is the right place for my question. Can somebody suggest the best way to transport my Casio Privia PX-110 to the UK from Canada? I'm planning to move to the UK for about two years and I want to bring my digital piano along.

I was considering bringing it along with me as a carry-on item since I've read musical instruments are allowed--however as you may know, the piano is quite heavy and bulky, and I am 5'2 and will be dealing with my other pieces of luggage as well. The other option I thought of was to have someone ship the piano to me in the UK once I've settled in, but I'd hate to pay over $100 in shipping fees and brokerage.

Also it doesn't say anywhere on piano's AC adapter that it is compatible with 220V levels used in the UK. So I suppose I will be needing a transformer?

Thanks very much!

You have to weigh up whether it wouldn't just be better to keep the Privia in Canada or sell it there, and pick up one here. Saves all the bother of transporting it and the risk of it getting damaged.

If you do want to bring it, the ac adapter can just be replaced by a UK version of the same adapter. http://www.rockingrooster.co.uk/product_info.php?PID=2084

I took a PX110 from U.S. as a present to a friend in Europe on an airplane. It didn't cost me any extra. You won't be able to take it as a carry-on - it needs to be checked in.

Rather than buying a new ac adapter - you can just purchase a converter.
