Hey there ya'll... I have been playing piano for a while (typically on my acoustic) and i also play guitar and some bass. I have been researching to get a good piano that i can use for practicing down in my basement (where my acoustic piano obviously can't go) and for adding to my recordings. I personally wanted it more for just playing on it, rather than recording. I have been looking at the Valdesta GX5. (Valdesta being the USA version of Viscount) From what i have read other places, reviews say it is not a bad piano. I was just wondering if ya'll had any input on this piano or company. Another one i was looking at was the Adesso PS88 http://www.music123.com/Adesso-PS88-i226190.music Let me know...

I've seen Valdestas offered by some online stores, I've never heard of the Adesso before. I've never played a Valdesta, but I would imagine it is a fairly good piano, because all manufacturers now use similar technology and have similar performance to other brands in the same price range. I think you would have a hard time buying a bad digital with weighted hammer action keys these days-- it's sort of like computers now; since they all use the same technology, even an unknown brand put together by a small computer store is going to have similar performance to a Dell.

all manufacturers now use similar technology and have similar performance to other brands in the same price range. Everyone is, of course, entitled to their opinion. However, sometimes that "opinion" is blatant misinformation. The above statement is a perfect example. What's unfortunate is that some people read this stuff as if it's authoritative without checking facts.
