Hi to everybody !
First of all, please excuse my spoken english : i'm french (south-west of France) and i stopped learning it 15 years ago.
I've been reading for weeks the different subjects on this wonderful forum and it's very usefull for me.
I'm wondering about my next (first) digital piano.

The researches and different tests i've made push me to (at now) choose the px-200 casio (px-800's brother).

I didn'nt buy it, but it can be soon.

i know the specifications of this piano (and your comments on this forum) and i like sounds and touch..and the price !!

So my question is : what else do you know about it ?

Quality/durability/serious of the casio factory ???

Merci beaucoup !

Except that thread may create the appearance of a problem, when in reality the behavior of the PX is quite typical of many other keyboards out there in terms of not sending velocity value of the theoretically attainable 127.

I would add that the keyboard itself is so new that there is no data available, yet, on reliability. Depending on where you buy it also affects how long your warranty period is.

Thanks.

For the moment, i will not use the Midi technology, so, for moment the problem of the 127 values is not important for me.

i need a piano for studying/have a few sounds and rythms...

it seems tha it will fit.. ?

But you're right : "the keyboard itself is so new that there is no data available"...

à bientôt !

No at all.
I conctated a lot of guys who own PX310 and CDP100 and they told me that their casios could really reach the values from 114 to 127 of midi velocity.
The PX200 doesn't go over 114.

Also I went to a shop that had a CDP100 and playing it I found a bigger dynamic range than my PX200, I could be more expressive.
For me there's a software problem that COULD be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

But now, if one plans to buy a PX200 and use it as midi controller for soft pianos, I strongly suggest NOT to buy it.

I believe this issue has been addressed, at least for recording, by using the USB which allows the PX200 to reach its full 127 range, correc?

Yes, with the USB with light touch selected you can reach 127 full range, but to reach values from 120 to 127 you have to push very hard.
I will continue to email casio anyway.
