I want to learn to play the piano, but don't want to invest in one yet. I was looking for a suitable digital to learn with, and I think I've narrowed it down to the Yamaha P 250 or PF 500. I like the idea of the portability (yes, it's 70 lbs), but I am not sure how realistic that is. If you use one primarily at home, do you often move it around? Also, should I be considering a comparable Roland model, and if so, which one? I am an absolute ignoramus when it comes to "feel" since I am not yet a player. Any suggestions?

Thank you all,
Cat

The only differences I could find are that the pf500 has these additional features: metronome (p250 metronome only works in the recording mode), includes 3 pedals (p250 only has one) and a stand. Also, the p250 has very generic styling, while the pf500 has a distinctive "contemporary" look to it. Other than that I think they are identical.

I was able to get my p250 out of the car and into my house by myself (I weigh about 135) but it was not easy. With two people it should be pretty easy to move around.

I'm an adult beginner and I really like my p250.

Thanks fojae. I didn't see any other differences myself, and they are so close in price (by the time you add the stand and extra pedals if you want them) that I wasn't quite sure whether I should be thinking "portable" or not. I can't really say yet how I'll be using it.
