Has anyone any views on the Grantouch range? It sounds the ideal solution to silent practice - a real piano action with digital sound. I find all approximations to real action (progressive weighted whatnot) unsatisfactory, not really surprising when you consider the complexity of the real thing.

Any experience anyone?

Thanks

SH

Apologies for replying to this fairly old post... I was away for the last month.

I have had a Grantouch DGT2A since last November. I also own a 6' Schimmel grand. I bought the Grantouch so I can practise late at night without disturbing the neighbours. The main reason I chose the Grantouch over some other electronic keyboard is because of its action. It is more realistic than any other electronic keyboards that I have tried. The key travel tends to be a little shallow, but I got the dealer to regulate it recently, and things have improved somewhat.

However, the sound leaves somthing to be desired and one cannot get the same nuances and sonority as on a real piano.

All in all, I am fairly satisfied with my Grantouch as a night-time alternative to my grand, but give me the real thing anytime!

Slight off/Slightly on topic

I have a Yamaha C2 grand with the silent option (Official model is DC2S).

I get a real acoustic piano action, and I get to practice silently at night when the kids are asleep.

(I like to have my cake and eat it too!!)
