I am just reading a review in the german "keyboard" magazin about the Kawai MP4 stage piano. It got very good results. Especially the sound and keyboard feeling received rave reviews. It is in the same price range as the yamaha P120 and Roland SX300.

I am wondering why i found nothing about the MP4 here in the forum...

In addition it seems to have good masterkeboard qualities.

just wondering ...

Hi digikey

I've been looking for information about digital pianos lately... and I found a lot about Roland (HP-107, KR-107) and Yamaha (CLP280) but not that much about Kawai (CA9). Then I finally found a dealer where I could play the Kawai (CA7, not CA9) and I liked it the best of all three brands.

It might be the same for the MP4: Most people do not know about Kawai and therefore their products don't get mentioned as often as the other brands...

I believe that the MP4 was only just introduced at MusicMesse and hasn't been released for general distribution. A quick google search shows this model isn't even listed on the Kawai US web site but there are many references on European sites.

If this model is anything like the old MP9500, then you can expect to hear a lot more in the future.

Looks interesting.
It is definately aimed at competing with the P120.
Time will tell how it ranks.

I have already seen it in a piano store in duesseldorf (germany) yesterday. Only played a few notes. First impression very good. Because it was connected to very large speakers very impressive in the lower part :-).

I have to go for a CLP because the WAF....

Dispite one unfavourable review which said that the MP4 next to the MP9050 had an inferior action and poor quality sliders and knobs I still think the MP4 is worth a look.
A Kawai Production manager told me the MP4 has''of course''got a graded action(even though the product info dose not state that) and is a better stage piano than the MP9500.
So there!

FWIW, the MP4 is now listed on the kawai US web site. http://www.kawaius.com/mp_4.html and graded-hammer action IS listed in the info.
