I have a Kawai KX 230 i am trying to sell because I am moving across country and am not going to ship it. It was a gift to me years ago, but the person who gave this to me has passed so i cannot go to them with this question. I was wondering what it would have gone for new and what it is worth today. It is in great condition and everything works just like it would new. It is pictured below. I would really appreciate any help if anyone knows anything or if someone could point me in the right direction to find my answer.

The KX-230 dates back to 1985, so while it may appear to be in very good condition, and still functioning perfectly well, I'm afraid the demand for such a dated instrument is likely to be restricted to collectors only.

As such, I very much doubt you will be able to sell this instrument for anything more than a few dollars. My suggestion would be to place an advertisement on CraigsList, or contact a local organ user group to ask if any members wish to donate a nominal fee in exchange for the instrument.

For those curious about the specifications for this model, here is a scan from the owner's manual that I have here. Note that there is no indication of 'Maximum Polyphony' etc.

Wow. I'm a little bit surprised that this digital piano would be worth next to nothing. I mean i know it's outdated, but i didn't think that would make it almost worthless to anyone but a collector. I'm a guitarist so i guess that's why i was thinking i'd be able to get something for it. I mean a les paul manufactured in 85 in good condition would be worth at least half of what it was back then. I can see why this wouldn't be worth as much, but i still thought it'd go for at least a decent amount. I guess it's different with this because it's digital, and with technology progressing the way it does, and new better models coming out everything before it gets cheaper and soon obsolete. Anyways, thank you for your help and suggestions.
