Hi everyone, This is my first post so first of all a big HI ALL is needed \:\)

I’ve been making music on my computer for just over a year now, and have slowly progressed to getting a couple of tracks released.

During this time producing ive been learning the keyboard, ive only been using a CME UF-6 Midi Keyboard with the M1 VST which has got me by till now.

But ive out grown it, no longer am i just hitting keys trying to find what key a vocal is in, or doing little arpeggios and bass lines, im really enjoying full chord progressions and things like that. Just playing music to how I feel.

After playing my mums upright over the past year too, the difference between the upright and the CME are obviously immeasurable. So it’s Digital piano time. \:\)

I’ve been eyeing up the DGX620, which as a package for a beginner seems almost unbeatable. There are a few things though which imp unsure about.

I do all my sequencing and recording in cubase sx, I believe this piano had a USB midi device, but how well does it work? I need the piano I get to work seamlessly with midi and cubase.

Am i looking at the correct thing? Should I be going down the digital piano route, or will an expensive synthesizer have just as good key action. I would much prefer to pay for a Nord Lead 3 and get a decent key action tbh, but im unsure how they compare.

As you guys can gather, im a little confused on this, so any help would be great.

Thanks

Mark

Best thing is to go out and try them all. In my opinion a good digital piano has a better key action.

What do I mean by better action ? I mean something that feel like an acoustic not a switch.

Hi, I saw Nord in one shop, but dindt have time to try it. So really, try what you want and then by your feelings decide whats better. Because i think the action is the most important and most subjective category.
