Hello All,

I have recently been asked to advise on the sale of a large church pipe organ.

The organ plays well and can be played now.

Couple of questions,

Does anyone have a sense of the value?
Where would you go to advertise thisfor sale?

Pictures at,.

I have a fact sheet I'll get posted soon
Any help greatly appreciated.

Larry Buck

Good Morning rank,

BTW, we missed you in Sept at Mason and Hamlin. Very nice presentation by Bruce Clark. I have spoken to him a few times since then, there are sone intersting things in the works.

Thanks for the lead on the Organ, I'll follow it up tonight when I get home from work.
Nice collection of information there, thank you.

It looks like a rather significant installation - I note that it is by George Hutchings (a top-notch New England builder of the 19th century); however, photos convey none of the important information (such as any modifications or the quality of maintenance over the years).

For a proper assessment, the church should get a qualified organization involved; for an instrument such as this the ideal organization would be The Organ Clearing House. The very good news is that they are practically in your back yard (Mass.).

Larry, I'm not saying you are not qualified - I'm just saying that these folks are likely to be more qualified - here are some of their considerable qualifications.

Taking about unqualified. The guitar teacher at the music school last night told me his church bought a rather expensive pipe organ a few years ago and didn't want to pay the 22, 000 to get it installed so HE installed it for 250!! He knows nothing about organs?!?!?!

Good Morning, Thanks for the replys,

I am aware of my limits, certainly.

If someone turnes up that is interested, I surely will hire an experienced person for a more thorough look, as should the interested person/s.

I am exploring th organ clearing house as well

The seller is offering a finders fee should someone provide a buyer.

Thanks,
LArry
