I have recently aquired a B Shoniger organ of New Haven, with a last patent date 1884. It has stamped numbers in the wood 7 8217 on it and states it was expressly made for Gen Millin & Co Baltimore. Does anyone know any history of this organ?

Hello there,
I found a guy in Netherlands who is selling an organ the same brand as yours. Maybe he has more info about your organ.
http://www.harmoniums.com/sale_7.htm

I live in Brazil and I am looking for an organ just like this to buy, I mean: high, very ornate case, victorian style, with bevelled mirror, and of course, restored. Unfortunately the guy who is selling this one is completely nuts about the asking price, otherwise I would buy it from him.
Do you have pics of your pump organ? I would be glad to see it, if you don't mind.

All my best regards,

Dib Franciss

The serial number indicates a construction date of 1886.
I don't know when Shoninger ceased making organs, but the name continued to be used on pianos untill 1929.
