Just out of curiosity: in the Little Fugue in E Minor, in the very last measure, there are these rectangular notes (looks like the combination makes an E Minor chord ... duh, guess that should have been obvious from the title, no?) underneath a set of fermata (fermati?). I've never seen anything like that before; what does it mean?
Thanks heaps!

Lyn, thanks for your reply. As it turns out, my lesson tonight was cancelled because my teacher got a sore throat and a fever.
What is it with the illness thing - one of my friends told me Monday evening he came down with strep throat, another of my friends suffered a burst appendix Monday morning ... seems like the sick/injury bug has hit my friends all in one fell swoop. Strange ...
Anyway, my lesson was rescheduled to next week Wednesday.
Which then brings me to another question - where would be a good place to purchase organ shoes? Any ideas?
Thanks.
Lyn F.

That's too bad about your lesson being cancelled. I hope your teacher feels better soon though, it's awful to be sick, especially this time of year! This is the link where I got my organ shoes. I've been very pleased with the ones that I ordered. http://www.organmastershoes.com/ Good luck! Lyn

Thanks for the link. I've ordered a pair for myself.
My teacher asked me to have a look at the Prelude and Fugue in F. He even added that I should try to coordinate the pedals with the manuals. I think I have to remind him that I'm a total beginner on the organ and have no clue where to begin as far as finding which notes correspond to which pedals! Of course, being able to have easy access to an organ wouldn't hurt either. (At this point, if I do hie myself off to Duke U., I might be able to beg for practice time ...)
