I would just like to take a quick time-out here from the world of piano to comment on the terrorist attack and collapse of the World Trade Centers in New York. I don't know about the rest of you, but this is something that I feel strongly about and I damn near cried when I first heard about it. How could somebody so badly wound the country? Whats wrong with them?!? At first, I was in complete shock, and even now, I still can't beleive that this has happened but I strongly beleive that this history making event is something that deserves recognition. Not only here, but everywhere. On every web site, on every radio/tv station, in every news paper, etc. I'm sorry that this has nothing piano related, which is what this site is about, but as I said before, this does most definatly deserve recognition.

Indeed,this is one of the worst,if not the worst, disaster to ever befall the U.S.And,this is truly a day which will live in history.People can only pray.

I think a rendition of Mozart's Requiem,adapted for the piano, is appropriate.

I sat down at the piano and played "My Country is of Thee". A very appropriate peice on this day of darkness. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

We need more musicians in this world.

I was in choir practice last night, and I thought it was extremely appropriate that we happened to be learning Rutter's "Requiem" at the moment. No one really felt like practicing, but at least we tried.

I find it very difficult to comprehend yesterday's events as well. All we can do is pray.

I live about 20 minutes away from the WTC, so you can only image the horror and chaos that was going on here. Sometimes, I feel pride in being of the same human race as Beethoven or Chopin or any great person, but other times i feel ashamed that any human can do this to other humans. It is truly a horrific day, not only for Americans, but for the entire world, past, present and future.

This whole ordeal was soo scary. My family lives 15 mintues away from the world trade center. When i first heard about it, i felt sick to my stomach, because i did not know if my Father had been one of the policemen who had raced to the scene early and been crushed in the buildings. I tried to get through to my home all day long but couldn't, all day long i had to live with the fear that my father could be dead. I finally got through and found that thank God he wasn't, but a few family freinds have been lost in the terrible tradgedy. I have been a mess for the past 3 days, crying every 10 minutes, but I am just trusting in God to give me peace that i can get through this. I am going home this weekend to be with my family and freinds who have lost loved ones. Thsi is a very sad time in American history and i hope that we can all unite throug this and stand strong.

God bless you as you head home to be with your family. It was so nice as I logged in here to see "God Bless America" on the welcome page. Thank you. These last two days, I can't bring myself to play even one note on the piano, or to listen to any music. Just can't do it yet. Please pray for our president and all those who will be helping and sacrificing with us in this time of war. When I woke up these last two mornings, I had that millisecond of hope that all those terrible images in my mind were just a bad dream. I wish it were so. God bless America.

Me too. I did not touch my piano since Tuesday. The Old Glory has been flying high under the bright Colorado sunlight in front of my house since. All national flags are sold out. As soon as the local stores get their new stock I'll get a big one and make it a permanent fixture inside my house. I'm proud to be an American!

The only time that I laid so much as a finger on my piano since Tuesday was to play "My Country Tis of Thee" and that was it until late this afternoon, when I found my sheet music for and played "Nearer My God To Thee"

While waiting to go to choir practice last night, I picked up an old book of hymns my mum had bought for me years ago at a yard sale. It has all sorts of good stuff in it, including a patriotic section. I started playing some of the songs in there (God Bless America, My Country 'Tis of Thee, etc.) and to my surprise, as I was playing, I heard some of my neighbours singing along with my playing! Just playing those songs brought me some comfort, and hearing the neighbours singing along with me was kind of like icing on the cake. We're going off to a peace gathering at the ball park tonight, which should be a good place to go to show solidarity, support and to give each other comfort and solace.

I've finally found and played a song that I've been looking for sheet music to for a while: "The Star Spangled Banner". It felt so nice to play and sing along with it.

Yes, I've found that playing a mix of patriotic and sacred songs have been quite therapeutic. Just knowing also that people are coming together to give each other support is a comforting thought as well.

My wife was on the way home from shopping when she passed a truck parked by the side of the road. It was loaded with U.S. flags.
Just in front of it was a cable company truck.
They were putting up a flag on every poll on the street.
