Now that I realize I'm in the company of experts... ;\)

Let's say I have bid $25.00 on something, and I'm currently showing as the high bidder... but the high bid is currently $20.00. I've had a change of heart and decide that I'm willing to pay MORE for this item than $25.00 (if necessary).

If I were to go in now and up my bid to, say, $35.00, does my original $25.00 bid become the new high bid? or does the system recognize that it's me and just change the upper limit of how high I'm willing to go--and the current bid remains at $20.00?

This stuff is complicated, but fun (and waaay to addicting!)

I'm not sure, but I think it would count as a new bid and raise the amount of the current bid.

.... also....

don't bid $25.00 or any other even number!
What if the OTHER person's high bid is $25.00!!!

... go with $25.01 \:D

My experience also, when I really want something and see other bidders sneaking up on me, and raise my bid. Usually, though, I try to choose one price and stick with it. If I'm outbid, well, that's life. And did I really need that Handel Keyboard Overtures 1st ed? Probably not.
