"eye-rack"- bothers me

It bothers me that we're occupying a country and 95% of all American inhabitants can't even pronounce the name correctly.
My AP history teacher, my friends, people on the street, news reporters, you name it. They say it as if it were pronounced "eye-rack." But in fact, the correct, the real way of pronouncing it is "Iraq" where the I is like the I in "it" and "ra" is like in "talk".
If we're at war with a country we might as well get the name right.

The way they pronounce it is more like ee-dock with a very light pronunciation of the d. However, I'm with Tom on this one.

That's too bad because I think eye-rak is cute. I think that Zee-rox and Dee-cal are also. Same with ruff instead of rooof. I especially like traash as opposed to just plain old trash. No eye-rak is cool but then so is eh-rak, eh?

You say ta-mae-toe and I say ta-ma-toe…. ….and is it Ca-rib-ean or Cara-bean?
