I am of mixed feelings on this monarchy stuff. I respect the institution for its symbolic value but really nothing more. I must admit that the few "blue bloods" I ever had to deal with in Europe were pretty much anachronisms and nothing special. Except one, a displaced Hungarian Graf- he was the most hilarious person I have ever met.
As I said, after the Queen Mother passed on the Royals were nothing more than just another wealthy but dysfunctional family of privilege.

Tom, do we treat that as a slow twelve bar Blues or snap it up a notch with some power chords over a hard rock rhythm- the kinda riff that Ritchie Blackmore might have used on some of that old Deep Purple stuff? I have to get a slide lick or two in there also- where do you think that'll fit.
On the other hand we could play it as a Country tune.
I prefer the Purple approach.

Renauda, Try a ditty. At least that's the way Paul McCartney sang it on Abbey Road.

[/b] Was the Hungarian Graf by any chance the one who drove the metallic red XJ12 Jaguar with the leopard skin interior? I liked that little old lady Mary. She once left Buckingham on her way to one of the rural palaces. She was driving her 1955 Mark VII saloon sedan, at nearly top speed (150mph), traffic cops chasing her nearly the entire distance. She didn't stop until she arrived at her destination. As she emerged from the car, the cops pulled up, shocked to find Queen Mum, then about 70. "Fast, isn't it?", she said. I liked that. As to the value of the surviving Royals, those of us descended from the Spencer line can only calculate what size explosive it would take to sink the Royal Yacht during a family reunion and how long it would take the Coast Guard to pick up the lone survivor so they could get to Westminster without stopping to shave. P.S. Benedict, abientôt.

JohnC: I wasn't aware that the lyrics were from a Beatle ditty. As I a was never much of a Beatle fan, and usually pay little attention to song lyrics anyways, it isn't surprising that I missed that. After reading them I just imagined Ian Gillan belting them out above some pretty hard rockin' power riffs courtesy of Blackmore and Lord. "...OOOH, I Gotta a Strange Kinda Woman..." That sort of thing.
Chickgrand: No this "Graf" drove a Subaru then switched to a Ford Explorer "Eddie Bauer Special". He was a committed 4X4 type as he lived for hunting and fishing.
