Woolly, of course.

Has anybody seen/played a piano with mammoth ivory? Does it look/feel like elephant ivory?

Over 1,000,000 posts where pianists discuss everything. And nothing.

Thanks Jolly, for the perfect oppurtunity for some shameless self-promotion.

We will be getting a Steingraeber 272 concert grand next month that will have Mammoth tusk ivory.

It will be on tour, going to Chris Finger Pianos in the Spring, and then Classical Grands later in the year.

So far, we haven't received any protests from Wooly Mammoth advocates.

I will post more regarding this piano, once we get it.

I was shopping and saw a piano with mammoth ivory -- was it a Seiler? I did not compare it to elephant ivory -- if I remember it was a pearly white with light grey veining, very elegant! I'll have to call around to find out exactly which piano it was, but I think it was at Encore Artisan in Tucson AZ (phone 520.465.1245).

Mammoth ivory.. how cool is that?

He is so solemn, detached and uninvolved he makes Mr. Spock look like Hunter S. Thompson at closing time.'

I called the dealer -- it was a 1984 C. Bechstein M with mammoth ivory.

Available in Tucson AZ at Encore Artisans.

Estonically yours,
