Goo Gone is xylene and has a very strong odor which does not dissipate quickly.

On non-porous surfaces, take a fingerful of mayonnaise, and rub it vigorously over the adhesive goo. It will ball up and come right off. Then clean off the mayo with a little soap and water.

And another commonly misused word:

What's wrong with this sentence?
"One of the agents opened the bag, she said, and found "a bottle that had been wrapped in bubble wrap" and became nauseous."

It is unlikely that the agent became nauseous as a result of finding a bottle. The agent may have been nauseous beforehand, but that particular personality trait is irrelevant. It IS possible, however, that upon finding the bottle the agent became nauseated. \:D

Matt(and PJ), I'm truly impressed! I thought I was the only one in the world who used this term correctly. To say "I am nauseous" literally means, "I am disgusting!"

I was reminded of this one today when I had to pay the bill: the outrageous cost of university textbooks! It's bad enough that you get gouged with tuition hikes every year, why do the learning materials have to be exorbitant too?

All I can say is my kid better wind up doing something with this expensive education she's getting! Her cousin, a cum laude grad from a first tier school, waits tables in Chicago.
