Yeah, I dont know. Some people were joking in that socks thread. I didnt know what to make of that one. In one way, that would be brilliant, but remembering how the two of them got so heavily into it CONSTANTLY, with no one else even listening anymore, it would be downright psychotic.

The more I examine it, the more impossible I think that would have been to pull off. (the pictures of the new estonia being delivered, for example) But if its true, I've never been more frightened.

Edit: yeah, ok, joke confirmed. thank god.

Yes, folks, the Jeffrey=Ivorythumper thing was a joke. I thought it was so improbable that no one would take it seriously, but I am rather tickled that some people had to think about it real slow and careful. \:\) \:\)

Yes, folks, Jeffboy might be smart, but he isn't that clever. Those strictly material biomechanical processes that he calls "consciousness" have not evolved THAT far yet... \:\)

TomK dropped me a line to tell me that CR was being binned. I quit cold turkey to go back to designing churches, planning a wedding in July to my beloved, and spending more time on the lovely ESTONIA that you all introduced me to...

For those of you who might like to see what I do, and read some of my articles and publications on the questions of architecture, philosophy, and Catholic culture, you are welcome to visit my company website

It's been a pleasure.

I had actually poked into your website a while back. It's quite impressive. I can't think of a better calling for an architect than church design.

Sounds like you're not much interested in carrying on with any of us, but if you are, there are several links floating about for coffee room detox centers.
I've enjoyed grappling with you Thump and would love to see you around - somewhere.

I keep poking in to see who's shown up before the CR closes, although in some ways it feels like watching a death (or maybe more like watching an execution). Glad to hear from you, Steve. I think we have some common ground. If you're ever in western PA, feel free to look me up. PM me via Pianoworld if you'd like my contact info. I don't plan on de-registering or getting banned here, athought I'll be a less frequent visitor. Also, congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I wish you many happy and fruitful years together. I've bookmarked your website and plan to browse through it after this event is over.

Big Al

Thanks BigAl, Jay and KathyK!

I've enjoyed the ride -- as much as I felt I had to bail for a while and get my priorities back in line.

Sort of a curtain call, but I want to publicly recognize a number of great folk with whom -- politics and religion notwithstanding -- I would enjoy a great meal and a piano party:

Kudos especially to JBryan, who always had the zingiest one liners. (And Improv -- you are tops in my book too -- thanks for all the laughs!)

Kenny, who is a truly sensitive soul.

Griff and Jolly and Dwain -- you're the kind of guys I want next to me in the trenches. -- U2 KB!

Jeffboy-- who doesn't really get the Catholic thing because he doesn't buy the whole notion of spirituality -- I suspect that someday you'll find that the great gifts of love in your life are more than just mechanical processes and have meaning far beyond your own little universe of discourse ;\) . If I'm ever back in NY, I'd enjoy the MOMA with you!

A lot of you guys and dolls are gems -- Nina, Plays, TomK (and your Lenten bi-locations), all the Team Dudes, CindySphinx, Apple (meum malum--the KC project died on me, but I hope the dinner invitation is always open!), Markjpcs, Ren, Quidam, PianoJerome, 89th, Jodi (who is perhaps the sweetest), MusicMagellan, NAK, Fizzy, JustMe...

Thank you for enriching my life.

Steve

Thumpy - "If I'm ever back in NY, I'd enjoy the MOMA with you!"

Gladly. Nice company website, too. You might be shocked at this, but I did get a couple of the books you mentioned along the way. Thanks for the conversations. Best - Jeffrey
