I'm in the middle of Winston's Holly and the Ivy right now (separating the left/right hand parts). What are you interested in? I've sent several people packages of music and I forget what I've given you.

Apple, this is what else I have (hardcopy only):

http://www.brentwoodbenson.com/view_item.asp?idproduct=8441800357
Instrument Of Worship[/b] by Carol Tornquist (see link for songs)

Solitude Hymn Meditations for Solo Piano[/b] by Jay Rouse (can’t find it on the web, but has some nice stuff including some two-song combinations like Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee/Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring).

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...=glance&s=books
Piano, guitar, vocal folio for Starkindler[/b] by Michael Card (see CD link for songs)

http://www.brentwoodbenson.com/view_item.asp?idproduct=457570708
Our God of Wonders Volume 1[/b] which is not really good to play directly out of, but I bought it because I want to do a completely orchestrated version of God of Wonders like the City On a Hill CD version.

So, if any of the songs from these interest you, let me know.

Then I recommend Altan, and of course the Chieftans. There's lots of good Celtic music besides and we can discuss in email if you wish. There's Celtic rock, too, like Wolfstone. Then there's people who take the various pipes to a different level like Davy Spillane. (By different pipes I mean there are several different types of "bagpipes.") Kind of like Bela Fleck does with the banjo.

As for jazz I am a huge Jean Luc Ponty fan(atic). Also Acoustic Alchemy, Ancient Future, Rippingtons, Craig Chaquico, Peter White, Dave Brubeck...too, too many to name. None of those have vocals. If you let me know your postal address (in email) I'll send you something that will change your mind about Tangerine Dream. \:D [/b]
Thanks for the Celtic recommendations -- I'll look into them. Thanks for the Tangerine Dream offer, but I'd hate to waste you money on postage for something I may not like. Just curious, what is it? -- it may be available online where I can just sample it.
It was a nice offer, though.

The Rippingtons are nice, too! I've heard of Ancient Future, but can't place anything they've done at the moment. I guess that Peter White & Craig Chaquico are the only 2 I'm not familiar with -- I'll look into them, too!

I heard a rumor I was going to send you a copy of "220 Volt Live" but I can't confirm that as it would be illegal if it weren't an original CD.

Don't worry, though, I send stuff to people all the time. I sent one guy a 10 pound box of brass because I don't reload. It cost me over $12 to mail it! I've sent people here original CDs, sheet music, etc.

Oh, man, you've got to check them out if you like acoustic guitar jazz! They are both fantastic. Craig Chaquico used to be the guitarist for Jefferson Starship. And check out "From the Redwoods to the Rockies" by Russ Freeman (Rippingtons) and Craig Chaquico. That CD resulted in a wife (for me).

(Yes, there is a story here).

Slow to get the joke probably indicates you are a more well-balanced person that I. I cracked up as soon as I heard it, which doesn't really reflect well on my character!

The sun is shining and in between correcting Social Studies 11 assignments I'm checking the forum. The stereo is playing a disc called
"!Cuba!" with Manuel Barrueco on guitar; perhaps I'll put on some more Latin music with Rachel Gauk on guitar next just keep in the spirit. \:\)

Have you heard "Skip, Wobble & Hop" with Jerry Douglas, Russ Barenburg and Edgar Meyer? It's one of my favourites. I actually got to hear the 3 of them perform live at several venues about 9 years ago. Great musicians.

I have other Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas stuff like New Grass Revival and Strength in Numbers. Now I've added Skip, Hop, & Wobble to my amazon shopping cart.

I saw a humorous review of Skip, Hop, & Wobble there. It starts out:

Let me first of all say I grew up in Arkansas but yet I have a very low tolerance for bluegrass. I know those people. The mobile home jokes? The sister/aunt/double step-nephew kinfolk? Bill Clinton? It's all true.

Hey Renauda (and maybe kluurs)

I'm listening to Morgaine Le Fay. Ever hear of them? They are out of someplace in Canada...can't remember where. I know their agents were in Fergus, Ontario, but... Up She Flew[/b] is the only CD they made as far as I know:

I saw them live several years ago at a festival. The following year the music booker told me they had split up. The CD is good, but live they kicked ass! (Can I say that here?) They play hard celtic (not as rock as Wolfstone). They play(ed) a combination of traditional and original music.

No, can't say I have heard of them. I'll ask a buddy of mine this weekend who is up on the celtic/folk bands.

Have you heard "La Volee d'Castors" (literally: Flock of Beavers) from Montreal? I recommend their disc "Par monts et par vaux". Their website is http://www.vdc.qc.ca/accueil/accueil.html

That's a really cool band that combine celtic, La Francophonie and Klezmer. If anyone can sit still to their music they must be catatonic!

I had not heard of them, but I just visited their website and viewed their videos (gotta love broadband)! Belle embarquez! was fun. Le feuillard/Rail Reel was certainly interesting. They're speaking some ferin' language, but best I can figure out a girl married some short guy. In her disappointment she murdered him by setting a straw-filled bed on fire. Then she married a big guy and everything was wonderful. Which goes to show, size *is* important to women.

I'd buy a CD or two, but they want $20 US per CD and $7 shipping! \:\(
