My teacher has a 5 year old boy who participated in an Aaudition last week. After his last lesson before the Audition he began acting out. He did well in the Audition and will play in the upcoming Recital. He will also be taking his RCM gd 1 exam in June. Can a 5 yr old be nervous before performing.

Even at 5, kids get nervous. A child loves approval, and being unsure of that approval gives rise to silly behaviour. Perhaps the adults are giving high pressure vibes that aren't really necessary. No one ever holds a poor RCM result against you, and in grade 1 that just won't happen. Relax. Adults especially.
