Often the people I find attractive are not necessarily the most physically attractive in the room. It is something about the way they carry themselves that you can pick up from a mile away.

I think confidence and openess magnifies one's attractiveness.

I've seen some recent research suggesting a very strong influence of chemical/hormonal compatibility. One study showed that people with immune systems that supplemented each other (therefore mating would produce children with an immune system more robust than either parent) tend to be more attracted to each other.

I wont go into the methodology of this study. Suffice it to say, there was much sweating and sniffing going on.

Yeah, isnt it tho. I tried sniffing my dates pitts once to see if it turned me on, but I think it kinda embarrassed her at the restaurant.

I actually think there is something to that. It is strange being near someone, usually a stranger, and feeling a strong attraction to them.

[edit] and by "that", I don't mean sniffing pits...

A question I was pondering this morning, in fact. Some opinions, geared towards women, naturally...

1. I like a woman, who is a woman. Not necessarily a clothes horse, I don't care if she's more comfortable in Wranglers, or Dior.

But she ought to be able to wear a pretty red dress, and never give it a second thought.

I like a woman who can wear Lacrosse rubber boots, and that doesn't seem to clash with the waft of a good perfume (Coco is my favorite on a woman).

2. I like a woman who acts like a lady. There are too many toilet-mouthed female pinnacles of vapidity, with vulgar demeanor, and small souls.

A lady knows when to open her mouth, and knows what to say, when she does. That does not mean the words will always be sweetness and light, but as JBryan says, some folks can tell you to go to Hell, and make you think you'd enjoy the trip.

A lady knows what kindness means, what charity can inspire, what faith can anchor, and what love can conquer. She makes all who associate with her shine a little brighter from her glow.

3. I like a woman who likes men, and is comfortable in their company.

Not flirtatious, but confident.

4. There is an old saying down here, that says a man wants a woman that's a lady in the parlor, and a whore in the bedroom.

That's a bit rough, but it's a pretty good sentiment. Y'all figure it out.

5. Note that I didn't specify hair color, eye color, skin color, body type, height, etc.

In the long run, when someone is really atractive, and can hold you captive to her charms for years, those things are not as important as they seem.

I like a man who can be romantic without getting mushy.

I like a man who can take control but is not controlling.

I like a man that knows a lot but doesn't necessarily know it all.

I like a man who is confident.

I like a man who likes to have fun and is able to laugh.

I like a man that doesn't sweat the small stuff.

I'd like a man who accepts me for who I am and doesn't feel they need to make me over.

I like a man who is comfortable downtown, out in the country, and up in the hills.

I like a man who likes food.

I guess I could go on but, I'm getting bored. Sorry.

Peggy obviously likes me! ;\)

The nature of attraction always baffles me. I don't know what I like, much less why. But I know attraction when I experience it. Either I'm just not paying attention, or I just don't worry about it. I guess I prefer it to remain a bit of a mystery.

It's not very cerebral.

You feel it when you feel it.
Or you don't.

Do you ever read online personals? I'm SO attracted to women who "like to have a good time, like hanging out with their friends, like to have fun." I hope I dont end up with one of those who dont like having a good time, or despise hanging with their friends, and run from fun.

I also hear there's quite a surge of men online who like taking walks in the park.

I never have. The problem with dating is that both parties are always putting their best foot forward. Seems you don't truly know the person until you actually live together.

BTW what happened to your other post? I'm still trying to figure out the party thing.

Dang you're quick! That was up for all of 15 seconds before I decided to delete it.

I agree what you say about dating. Early on, everything is so magical, since you dont know the person yet, they can fulfill all the perfection you project upon them. Very exciting. Then the dirty laundry gets viewed. and oh, this person is just as disgusting as any other human being. \:\)

And, as we get older the baggage gets heavier.

I think I'll add to my list:

"Preferably a man with little or no baggage."

Now I'm really reaching!
