I've been a member for 1.5 years, but haven't posted all that much until recently. This interaction has allowed me to start to get to "know" people somewhat. So the next logical step...show us your picture. We want to see who we're speaking with (or arguing with as the case may be)! Besides, if we can put a face with a name we're less likely to be as hostile with them. Of course, there might be exceptions... Naturally I'll start.

I believe the car is an EV1 by GM (electric).

Must be quite a contrast when switching between the EV1 and the Corvette!

Yes, Derick is right, it is an EV1, the 100% electric car manufactured by GM. The stark differences between that and my Corvette are only in top speed, not acceleration. The EV1 accelerates like a raped ape. Electric motors have beaucoup torque.

Re the bleached hair, the first picture was taken outside, so that is probably the difference.

And apple, TomK, and Derick have posted here, so you all still owe the PianoWorld forum pictures!

Yes, there is the PF picture gallery (which I didn't realize existed) but most of the pictures there are of pianos not people. This thread is about PEOPLE. I saw pictures on the PF archive of people who I don't see post here. I didn't see pictures there of people who DO post here.

Well time to come clean for those who haven't figured it out...

Way back when, when there were only a few forum members, and I was still a nice guy, I joined on as John D (for John Doe). Then I went off to live/work in Germany and did not frequent the board. When I burst back onto the big screen in January 2002, I decided to reincarnate myself as Derick. The evil, arrogant, yet considerate, CEO-hating, pro-US, anti-big business, pro-life, fiscally conservative, laid-back, hot-tempered, non-judgemental, sensitive, socialist, liberal capitalist, angrily seeking validation and serenity in a world devoid of emotion that continuously grows ever more complacent with the status-quo.

So now that you know a little bit of my forum lineage, and you'd like to see my mug and my smelly piano, the link is below.

The photo of me was taken while vacationing on the moon on my honeymoon. Don't look too close at the piano; the veneer is peeling and the pinblock fell out (you know those Falcones were really, very, poorly made and they smelled *really* weird. And to think I could have bought a Mason & Hamlin, what the hell was I thinking? It must have been the tinitus.). But anyway, ever since getting the new hammers, the wet-dog smell is subsiding. Fortunately, however, the sweet smell of pot lingers ever so faintly in the surrounding air.

Oh yeah, did I mention I can be a little bit sarcastic at times, yet very lovable? I'm also pretty, damn, good-looking if I do say so myself.

Oh, I fixed them - I broke off the hammer shank, flipped the key around, mounted the hammer shank on the other side and used some white touch-up paint to cover up the bare wood. Pretty good job, eh?

They definitely had a full bag the day they made mine. Maybe two full bags. In retrospect, they may have given some to the dogs - they seemed unusually hungry as they paced the showroom floor...

It is another version of Ian (both of which are Scots). Because Ian is more common than Iain I somehow received the nickname of "2 I's".
