I found a fascinating site w/ a quiz on religion... http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html My Results The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa. Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking. How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards. 1. Unitarian Universalism (100%) 2. Liberal Quakers (93%) 3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (89%) 4. Mahayana Buddhism (84%) 5. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (80%) 6. Neo-Pagan (78%) 7. New Age (78%) 8. Theravada Buddhism (77%) 9. New Thought (75%) 10. Taoism (72%) 11. Scientology (68%) 12. Hinduism (65%) 13. Secular Humanism (61%) 14. Bahá'í Faith (61%) 15. Reform Judaism (60%) 16. I dont currently practice any religion. Grew up in the ways of Jehova's Witness for a while. They do a lot of preaching. I attended a Roman Catholic High School, but that didnt do much for me. On the contrary, I felt left out at their religious services and didnt much like going to religion class.
I dont like the description of the Unitarian Universalism folks, sounds too "one-size-fits-all." There's no hope for me, is there? 1. Unitarian Universalism (100%) 2. Mahayana Buddhism (97%) 3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (95%) 4. Theravada Buddhism (95%) 5. Liberal Quakers (94%) 6. Bahá'í Faith (91%) 7. Jainism (87%) 8. Hinduism (81%) 9. Oddly enough I think this is about right-- actually dead on target for the top 3. I would have thought that Christian Science would have rated a in the first 10 though and I am a bit surprised to see Orthodox Quaker in the top 5.
1. Eastern Orthodox (100%) 2. Roman Catholic (100%) 3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (98%) 4. Orthodox Quaker (93%) 5. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (85%) 6. Sikhism (78%) 7. Liberal Quakers (77%) 8. Seventh Day Adventist (76%) 9. Unitarian Universalism (69%) 10. Reform Judaism (67%) 11. Bahá'í Faith (65%) 12. Orthodox Judaism (62%) 13. Neo-Pagan (60%) 14. Hinduism (56%) 15. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (50%) 16. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (46%) 17. Islam (44%) 18. New Age (44%) 19. I guess it was pretty accurate. Mine was
1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)
This would be the closest category as I consider myself an Evangelical Christian.

Best thing is, you can also use this test to see how well you understand the tenets of other faiths. For example, I took the test again to see how well I could summarize Catholic, Mainline Protestant, LDS, Islam and a few others. I am quite happy to note that I nailed every one of them! :p

I wasn't too surprised, 1 was my background, 3 is my present association, am aware of 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 15 and even 26 as influential on my outlook. Not really sure what Quakerism is like (can't imagine the difference between an Orthodox or Liberal one), but since I am not a pacifist, it would be kinda hard for me to be a Quaker or a Buddhist. Surprised to see Islam so high, but Mormons beat them out. Scientology should be right down there with Secular Humanism.
