Taken after a recent recital that I gave , and one quite belated one of Wgh and myself at our get-together in January.

Sigh. I'm going to stick my neck out on the chopping block for this. You know how impersonal a medium the Internet is. So when you participate in forum such as this one, somehow (at least I do anyway ...) one would kind of form in the mind a picture of what one would think a person looked like, based on what they wrote, etc. (Urgh. Grammar police will catch me for that sentence I just wrote!)

Anyway, Brendan, I don't know why I imagined you ... well, differently. Another actor with your first name kept on popping into my mind. smile But never mind my babble, these are wonderful photos and thanks for sharing!

Regards,
Lyn F.

Great Photos, Brendan, thanks for posting. You look very relaxed at the piano. No sweat dripping from your brow or shaking hands, at least not from this angle. wink

Brendan, I think you look very much like yourself. And WGH....why, he looks just like the little picture that comes up when he posts. laugh

I agree, Brendan looks very much as I had imagined, but I always pictured wgh to be a bit older, maybe closer to my own age, and quite different in appearance. I think it's fun to be taken by these kinds of surprises. It forces you to challenge your internal stereotypes and prejudices about what people who look a certain way would actually be like.

Well maybe, but I'd improve his posture and thereby increase the energy he'd have available to him for playing by making him sit bolt upright with his pelvis slightly behind the line of his spine, his head up, shoulders relaxed and down, sitting closer to the edge of his bench, his bench placed farther back away from the piano. But nevertheless they were great pictures. He seems to have a sensitive face, probably an effective player. Looks like a Steinway he's playing, probably a D.

I also pictured WGH as older. Brendan, these pictures don't look like the other ones we posted - did you cut your hair? Nice hands. smile Jodi

Brings back memories of Alexander Technique classes from way back when.

Jodi - those pictures from the old forum were from when I was only 18 or so. I hope my complexion has changed some by now. laugh

If I look carefully at the 2nd shot, I can see, behind the glasses, a certain look.... yes, it's the eyes of a COLD-BLOODED SIM MURDERER...!!! laugh laugh

Nice shots, thanks for posting.

I'll try to get a photo of my piano for the board, as we just got a digital camera. The piano is nothing much to look at, but the dot painting behind it is spectacular! :p

Brendan,
Nice pics. Nice hands. I remember them from another pic. I'm now thinking of the Liszt sonata and that wonderful pedalling. laugh Wgh isn't at all what I "imagined" him to be... confused

Sincerely,
Eldon

Wonderful photos, Brendan! Thanks so much for sharing. You guys look great. Indeed Wgh looks almost as mischievous as his postings and signatory.

Thoroughly enjoyed BabelFish, by the way.

Regards,
Joy

Oh come on! No disappointments whatsoever. wink

Actually, I kind of flinched when I first saw the first picture. From the side view, you look very much like a chemist who works down the hall from me. Same build and everything.

Now let's see, as for Calvin, er, I mean, wgh ... laugh ... never had the Billy Idol hair image in mind actually. Yeah, I guess Calvin's hair might give that impression.

Ye Gods--- Imagine my shock at seeing my big goofy mug plastered on the Forum.

And hey, I'm nearly TWICE as old as Brendan, so come on------how old did you think I was??? laugh laugh

Brendan took me by surprise in one way. I had seen the picture he mentioned earlier before, so I thought I knew what to expect, but he was WAY taller than I had imagined..... I'm 6'1 and if I'm not mistaken he's got that beat.
