I'm for real its not a scam, I could be in Elizabeth town in about a hour and half.
I would just like to say to everyone, that I am really appreciated to anyone who donates to my education for pianos. And that grand may be a thing later on in Life! Haha
Thank you

You can put me down for $20.00. My dad's family came from the area of "Bloody Harlan", KY. Actually Lynch, KY, and Stonega, VA, many years ago. Grandpa worked in the mines for US Coke and Coal, then came to Detroit where he played sax and accordion (which I see by your profile you also play!) during the Depression for extra (if there was such a thing back then) money. Dad earned degrees in education and performance and taught band and orchestra to Jr. High kids. Also had a music store during and after his teaching years. I played drums with him in weddings while growing up. While doing some family history research, I came across Bill Bosch, who grew up in Lynch, taught school there and maintains this website: http://home.earthlink.net/~audra-bill/index.html Anyway, $20.00 toward shipping is the least I can do as a gesture of appreciation for all the info., good will and souvenirs I've received from Bill. So let me know where to Paypal the contribution and good luck with your music and whatever else you do in S/E KY and beyond, Brad. Maybe I'll come down there and hear you play one of these days. I've been looking for an excuse to drive down and check out Black Mountain and take the Portal 31 tour, if they're still doing that in Lynch! Maybe you can play some Hazel Dickens for me. Sorry the $20.00 couldn't be more.

pianobroker,
Please give me a call. I left a message for you. I just moved to Kentucky and am here in Lexington. I think I can help. I am about 2 hours from Elizabethtown and I know the folks at Keyboard well. I could arrange to prep it and might be able to contact some manufacturers for you if you are going to organize this. I would love to help in any way.

I would just like to say I really appreciate any type of help I can get, I think will see if we can get enough people to donate before we setup a paypal so we wont have to give refunds (that may be a hassle if we do that) because of not making the full amount. Pianist Envy, I may have to hold you to that Harlan hasn't changed much. If theres any information you need I will help as much as I can. I live in Wallins Creek which is outside of Harlan population of 400. But if you did come and visit Dont know if you'd leave! Haha I just wanna say thanks to everyone and that its very much appreciated.

and assuming William can be persuaded to slightly alter his contingency). No problem. I'll send the $50 to Broker when the Paypal is in place. Brad, When the shipping money is in place and a piano is scheduled for shipment from Pianobroker, let your local newspaper know what's happening. They might like to run the story, take a photo of the truck from California, and handle the local end of the delivery. Who knows? PB might get a little pub and you might get an offer from a piano teacher in your area for free lessons.

Brad: Don't be like my son when you start your lesson! (See my query on the Piano Teacher's forum if you don't know what I mean.)

If donations go through for everyone one more person with $10 and We'll have $500
Thank You Everyone, I'm really appreciated on this and thankful for everything I can get. Haha unlike a couple of people that told me they'd burn or take their piano to the dump before they'd sell it to me! (Due to the high price they wanted for a old antique piano)
Thank You, I'm thankful for it all.

Should be time to set up the paypal account to see if pledges come through, no? Through Piano World or Piano Broker (I think he said he didn't want the accouting part of it though)?

I can put in $50 - I may be late to the fair, but expenses may be higher than anticipated, no?

Haha That sounds good, I really would like to get down there one of these days. Maybe next summer. PM me with a way to contact you if I get down there. My wife and kids want to visit one of my kid's friends who moved to Louisville. Maybe we'll drive down, rent a car and I can go off on my own for a while to check out the mountains. I'd like to get to Lynch, Big Stone Gap and Stonega to check out some churches and family history. And hear you play the accordion and your new PIE-anna!! You know any Obereks?? Polkas?

Brad, I'll call you later, [/b] I don't mind doing it. I would consider it an escrow, so, as a lawyer, I have very high levels of legally imposed obligations (ie, you can trust me, or have me disbarred ). If everyone is ok with that, I would have the funds sent to my personal paypal account, then transfer them to my law firm's escrow account, then cut a check to Pianobroker.... Or whatever works.

I have to agree Durango, Its only fair. I think someone was going to see if they could get a discount from Keyboard carriage if that works whatever is left over from the donations Pianobroker should receive. And Durango, WHen you have a digital camera you take pictures of everything that you get, Right? With Paypal they do have a donation form that is availible where anyone can type in their credit card info and the amount they want to send to that person and of course its SAFE and SECURE through paypal. Durango, You also gotta count on those videos and recordings and what not. I wouldn't want you guys to go hungry! Haha
Thanks!

Ok by me. Give us the email on your paypal Mark. Also agree on the surplus as pianobroker said he was going to prep and tune it I believe not to mention the piano was enough.

So do we know yet what piano we're getting Brad?
I searched CL a bit, and there's a Hamilton for $500 near St Louis, MO, and a church has a 30-year-old Hamilton in SF Bay area that they're willing to give away.
P.S. I'm a huge fan of Baldwin Hamiltons (especially older ones - built before 1956), in case you guys didn't already know that :p
