This is to see how old you are......

Circle the ones you can remember seeing in your past. Then look at the bottom of the test to see what you scored.

Can you remember:
1. Blackjack chewing gum
2. Wax Coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar water
3. Candy cigarettes
4. Soda pop machines that dispensed bottles
5. Hamburg joints with tableside jukeboxes
6. Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers
7. Party lines
8. Newsreels before the movie
9. Slingshots
10. Butch wax
11. Telephone numbers with a word prefix (Olive - 6933)
12. Peashooters
13. Howdy Doody
14. 45 RPM records
15. S&H Green Stamps
16. Hi-fi's
17. Metal ice trays with levers
18. Mimeograph paper
19. Blue flashbulbs
20. Amos and Andy
21. Roller skate keys
22. Cork popguns
23. Drive-ins
24. Studebakers
25. Wash tub wringers

If you remembered 0-5 = You're still young.
If you remembered 6-8 = Kids are calling your sir/ma'am.
If you remembered 9-12 = You probably have gown kids!
If you remembered 13-15= You're older than dirt!
If you remembered 16-25 = Geezer!!

Egads, I'm not old enough to have grown kids, and yet I know enough of that stuff to fall into that category!

Harumph!

I just noticed that thread Penny. So once I've digested all the posts....... everybody look out......

The Alpha Doggie is gonna come fix that mess! wink

And everybody must remember:

You don't tug on Superman's cape,
You don't spit into the wind.
You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger,
And you don't mess around with Jimmy......

Alpha Doggie, just be kind to me or the clean paper in your cage is history!

Hmmmm, gotta take that test but Penny has taken ALL my time trying to convince her that I'm right and she's wrong. Haha. wink

IT'S A JOKE just in case anyone didn't get it.

How can one understand the Hank Williams song, Mind Your Own Business, without knowing what a party line is?

Baseball cards in chewing tobacco?
No dials on the phones (human operators)?
sen sen?
Malteds?

My joints are stiffening as I type?

Here a few things that I can remember-
that now seem as dated as the slide rule-

- Black and white T.V.'s with NO remote control!
- Chatty Cathy dolls (I always wanted one!)
- Jiffy Pop Popcorn- "As much fun to make as it is to eat!"
- Star Trek (TOS)- when the episode weren't re-runs.
- Huntley and Brinkley's "Good night, Chet. Good Night, David, and Goodnight from NBC News."
- When Armstrong walked on the moon.
- Dinner hour- with every one sitting down together at the table.
- 8 tracks and beta VCRs
- Buying a hamburger, fries and a coke at McDonalds and getting change back from your DOLLAR!

Attitudes are contagious. Mine might kill you. wink wink wink

Gee, I'm only 42. I admit that a lot of the ones I remember go back to early childhood (like Grandma's party line), and I admit I grew up in "the land that time forgot," but I remember 17 of them.

16. I can remember getting my tongue stuck on one of those icecube trays, I can still smell the mimeograph paper, and my husband tried to get me to BUY an old Studebaker a couple of years ago. No seat belts, no headrests. I told him he was nuts. smile Jodi

Great, as if I weren't feeling old enough already, Larry comes along with a nice little diversion that places me squarely in the geezer category. I guess I'd better just face the facts. Now excuse me, I have to go soak my dentures....

OH, OH. eek I still own two slide rules, a Beta VCR, a Yancy Derringer play derringer, a skate key and some 78 records. Our hamburger joint used to charge $.15 for 1 but you could get a bag of 7 for $1.00.
