Thoughts/comments/opinions?

My opinion: Pop music, has been at a stagnant point for the past few years. The style currently leading the development of music is primarily Hip-Hop, which has not been that productive in the past couple of years.

Beyond the general Hip-hop movement, there have been a few attempts (most are unsucessfull in obtaining a profit) at trying to create a change in the general direction that music is taking.

I think, maybe, this level of mediocrity is what is causing the "major labels" to take the financial hit in which it is due.

I am of mixed opinion on downloading illegal music. I think it is wrong and I don't do it myself (unlike our former uber-lib LazyPianist) but a part of me thinks that maybe truly good music will surface as the tripe most people like and steal will fall by the wayside.
