I am a huge fan of his.

I will be there and MIGHT meet him after the show. Anyone want to join me?

Is it true that he is or was at one time only playing with one hand due to some physical problem?

By the way, I'm wondering why this part of the PIano World site is virtually unused since it began. I would think that readers of this site would be the type who would go to piano recitals often and also be interested in reading others peoples' reviews.

Rich,

Thanks for the lead.

I am also a big fan of Oscar Petersen.
Where in Philly is he playing?

BTW, Horacio Gutierrez, Cuban-born and Julliard-trained, perfoms at Lafayette College on Sept.5.

Rich--

Please post your impressions after the Oscar Peterson concert. I would be there in a heartbeat if I was anywhere east of the Mississippi River! He's one of my faves, so I would love to hear how he is getting on.

Thx

I saw Oscar play last year at the Hollywood Bowl. He was fabulous. It's true, he doesn't use his left hand much anymore. But as a reviewer said after the show, he plays better with one hand than most others with two.

Anyone who has a chance to go should do so. You will not be disappointed.

Robert,

I believe at the new Kimmell Center. I have to double check that.

Nina,

Will do!

Rich,

Any chance of you snapping a few photos and posting? Especially if you get to meet him?

What a drag... seems like so many things are feeling the pinch now since the recession has been dragging on so long.

I'll be in NYC in early January, maybe I'll get lucky and find he's performing in the area then.
