If you're not and you live in Southern California, there's a chamber music program designed for musicians 6-19 I believe from August to May annually. It's a good opportunity to get to know the chamber music world. Your duo, trio, quartet, or quintet (or sometimes they're even custom made) meets regularly for lessons with Professors and get to perform eventually. I've twice participated and so far, I still haven't protested.
