I was lucky enough to obtain tickets before they sold out to last night's performance here in Toronto.

What he played:

Haydn - Sonata in G Major Hob XVI/6
Haydn - Sonata in C Major Hob XVI/29
Schubert - Sonata in C Major D 840
(intermission)
Soong Fu Yuan - Four Poems
Chopin - Four Mazurkas, Op. 50
Chopin - Sonata in Bb minor, Op. 35

I thought the character pieces by Soong were very good. Kind of like a modern Debussy hooked on opium. The mazurkas were spot on - Fou is my favourite interpreter of this form. Fou Ts'ong had some interesting ideas with Chopin's sonata that I thought breathed new life to this warhorse, unlike what I've heard before on various recordings from other artists.

Did anyone on this board besides myself attend this concert?

I second this whole-heartedly. Fou's complete Chopin Mazurkas under Sony is one of the best recordings in my collection. I also recommend his complete Chopin Nocturnes under the same label. Both are budget sets with masterful performances. As a matter of fact Fou astounded the judges as well as record company art directors so much that Czech label Supraphone signed on him to record all 8 Mazurkas he played in the competition first round even before the final round got started. In those days of the Warsaw Chopin Competitions all competitors were required to play 8 Mazurkas. (I'm not sure of the requirements nowadays.) Fou placed third in the 1955 competition where V. Ashkenazy placed 2nd.
