Greetings!
Last November, a contingent of the fabulous Southern CA Piano Group congregated in Encinitas. We met at Artistic Pianos to oogle pianos. Then we all left to hear Lori Bell and her group Interplay perform their special blend of jazz at a nearby venue in Encinitas. It was a very special day.
Great news: Lori is making a return engagement with the remarkable Ron Satterfield, guitarist-vocalist-scatsinger extraordinaire, and Kevin Koch, percussionist. We just got word that Lori received a Grammy nomination for her most recent CD -- which either Palindrome or Matt G has, I believe.
The date: Sunday, April 23rd, 2 pm
The place: The Neurosciences Institute, La Jolla, in the breathtaking Torrey Pines area near UCSD.
A note: My nonprofit group, Seagate Concerts moved its headquarters from a church in Encinitas to its current venue, a state-of-the-art facility with incredible acoustics. The Neurosciences Institute dedicates this space solely to quality arts performances because "...The relationship between music and the human brain represents a special focus of research ....We believe that the quality of human life can be substantially enhanced by furthering research about how the brain conceives and perceives music and art....." Isn't that way kewl?
We've kept tickets prices the same. Families can get in at the door for an unbelievable $25. This is to encourage children to attend because Seagate believes that music appreciation starts early!
