Emmanuel Music, led by Acting Artistic John Harbison and Associate Conductor, Michael Beattie, opens the final year of its Schumann Chamber Series on Sunday, October 26 at 4 PM at Emmanuel Church.
The opening concert of Year 5 features renowned pianist Russell Sherman playing three of Robert Schumann’s best-known pieces. All written early in Schumann’s career, the three pieces show the emotional range of Schumann’s musical expression.
Mr. Sherman has been praised as an ingenious virtuoso and an insightful master. A prolific performer who has made many recordings, including an acclaimed recording of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes, Mr. Sherman is also a master teacher who counts Emmanuel Music founder Craig Smith among his students.
