I have great fun interacting with composers gone by. I thought it might be fun to share and hope some of you think of the same sort of things.
Me: "Goodmorning Johann."
Bach: "Goodmorning Leisle. Let me hear you play Prelude 6 in D-minor from Book 1 of the Well Tempered Clavichord........"
Bach: "Perfectly.. or you know what the punishment will be".
Me (to myself): "I hope he doesn't make me play the organ."
Bach: "On the harpsichord, please. Slow and steady with even tempo in both hands".
Me: lalalalalalalala (music playing)
Bach: "Liesle: That was not good enough. I would like to hear great closure in your ending chords. I would like you to build the melodies into a crashing, ascending crescendo at the final measure".
Me: lalalalalalalal (music playing)
Bach: "I am afraid I am going to ask you to play the piece, measure by measure, 5 times each, each time getting louder and faster, proceeding backwards from the ending to the beginning, on the organ. I will come back to you when you have finished".
Me: "Johann! Please no! Not five times. That is too much for me".
Bach: "Liesle! Practice! One day you will be able to do it".
