What a coincidence! My wife and I taught our kids how to play hearts this week, too. We used to play it all the time in the barracks (we were in the Air Force) many years ago. The kids are now officially addicted!

My 13 yr old son learned the hard way that you only open with the Ace of Spades of you also have the Queen. And I don't know how many times I have to tell my 16 yr old to stop holding her cards so I can see them. Last game we played, my son left the table to use the bathroom, and he put his hand on the table FACE UP!! What a riot!

Oh, your kids are older, that's right.

Mine are 13, 10 and 7.

My dad was military. Did you also grow up playing pinochle (sp)? I love the double-deck version.

Speaking of chess (kind of), later this month I'll be playing in the intercollegiate chess championship in Kansas. Any well-wishing would be appreciated.
