How do's!

Found this forum the other day.
Newbie so go easy on me ;\)
Just started piano about a week ago after 3 years of guitar, which I still love!
But piano seems just totally different music.
Playing mainly classical at the moment, have learned
Cannon, Greensleeves and Fur Elise so far.
I forgot how good the feeling was learning new things when just starteding out!
Also the theory is so much easier than guitar.
I can read music, play in key, and play almost any chord already! After only a few days

Any way just thought I'd say hi, and warn you of my off topicness, drunken posts, and general uselessness \:D

Hi - welcome to the forum!

Good to hear that the piano is going good. I also played the guitar (electric, for about 6 years), but like you I too am also loving the different sort of music piano brings.

Well done on the classical pieces - thats excellent progress so far! Maybe if you head over to the Adult Beginners board, you might feel confident to post some recordings? We are a friendly bunch over there, so no worries.

(there is a chap who posts there called Seaside Lee - i'm pretty sure he is also from Blackpool - he runs a fitness gym).

And as for drunken posts - haha - we love 'em! (i've done quite a few of them myself!)

All the best,
Euan.

Cheers man.

Yeah sounds like the Guitarist forum I'm a regular to. Couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people! Bar the trolls that is haha...

I'm just about to start reading that book the was posted in the Adult Beginners section, Piano Practice by someone Chang? Havn't looked at it properly yet, but, judging by the comments you guys left, it should be an interesting read.

Okay I lied...

2 days. Teehee. I still make mistakes every now and then but it's pretty much nailed now. Cannon isn't fully complete yet. I mean I can play the whole thing HS. Havn't really tried properly. I'll do it later. I'm just having muchos fun playing Fur Elise over and over. \:D

That's nothing, I sight read Beethoven's Hammerklavier when I was five. I hit a wrong note or two in the final fugue, but otherwise it was perfect. Did I mention that I can also divide by zero??

Anyway, welcome dude!!
