Name this tune (composer and name of piece).
Try doing it in your head first, before you try playing it.

I always thought about doing a contest like this, but was always too lazy to scan the music. Anyway, I'll just toss in my guess and say Albeniz, but I don't know the name of the piece.

Back in college, we all played a similar game. We called it "Drop the Needle" (back in the LP days, of course) and you had to guess the composer and piece from the first chord or two, or 2-4 melody notes. Pretty tough.

We also played "Opus Quiz," where one person would call out a composer's name and opus number, and the first person to name the piece was the winner.

All that said, I don't know the piece referred to here... frown

I would say Scott Joplin, but don't know the name of the piece.

Nope, keep trying.

It's actually a well known piece, but I chose
a not so well known section.

I didn't play it but I'm guessing Golliwog's Cakewalk or The Little Negro? smile

it looks like mozart to me, but sitting here at my work desk and trying to sound it out in my head im really not sure...kinda reminds me of first movement of Beethoven Op.109, but im almost positive thats not right...Mozart or easy Schumann...but im not gonna get any closer here.

Hmm...I'd say it looks like Rachmaninoff, maybe Ravel. It appears to be in f major or d minor...

Maybe from the Etudes Tableaux?

I don't know the piece but I'll guess: Debussy?

It looks like something from around the turn of the century, perhaps a little later or sooner. maybe Satie, or Grieg?
