It used to be the tea room, but now it's dead.

Remember - Coffee Room War I II and III? (or was that IV, V, and VI?) We all came down to the tea room, to try to make a go of it? It didn't last long. Nobody to argue with.

When Frank announced the closure and we were casting about for new digs, I considered suggesting that we migrate here.

I decided against it. I wouldn't want to invest in a place only to have someone pull the rug out from under me like that again.

This seems like a nice place to do "the coffee room."

When I posted this message, there were only two people in here!

We need to get it going with some interesting conversations.

If you'd like to participate in some lively non-piano related discussions, you can certainly try Cindi's WTF, or check out www.coffee-room.com

It was actually very weird, coz that was just about the time I joined the forums - and I didn't really know what the fight was about - but I joined it anyway.

I fought for the Coffee Room, but I didn't even know what it was, exactly. \:D

Not that it helped, Frank closed it down anyway.

But I think this place is much better! \:D

You used to be able to read the OCR archives. Apparently, Frank has now pulled them.

Sure, lots of wicked sparring going on, but also some of the finest writing you have ever seen on a website, by some very smart people.

We are kinda split up nowadays, some of us at the WTF, some at TNCR, and some at Fat Shirley's. Since we are not all in one place, the quality of discussion may not quite be what it was, but it still can be invigorating.

Last time I looked, there was a cumulative of about 70,000 posts on those sites. Not bad for 90 days or so.....

I really wish i had been around to experience the old coffee room. Is there anywhere that anyone can suggest with the same lively atmosphere that is still going that i could join?
